The band was formed in 1966 by the Mexican-American guitarist and song writer Carlos Santana. In 1998 Santana found huge commercial success with the release of their album “Supernatural” which featured the number one singles “Smooth” and “Maria Maria.” The album "Supernatural" won 9 Grammy Awards.

Career Achievements

Santana is one of the most successful rock bands in history with 43.5 million albums sold in the United States and 100 million albums sold worldwide. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and has won 10 Grammy Awards, 3 Latin Grammy Awards, and 2 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
