Shelton developed a love for country music as a young child and was already song-writing by the age of 15. After graduating high school, Shelton moved straight to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in country music. In 2001 Shelton landed a contract with Giant Records and released his first single “Austin” later that same year.
