Steelers Spotlight

Current NFL Season

Posted 6/21/2024

Despite injuries at the quarterback and other key positions, the Steelers were able to make the playoffs in 2023 and extend head coach Mike Tomlin’s streak of having a record of .500 or better in each year of his head-coaching tenure. Tomlin was rewarded with a contract extension this offseason, and Pittsburgh will have a new look on offense with some sort of a time-share at quarterback between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Najee Harris returns at running back and is joined by veteran Cordarrelle Patterson, and George Pickens will lead the wide receiver group that has Van Jefferson as a new piece. Defensive stalwarts Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, and Minkah Fitzpatrick are welcoming Patrick Queen from rival Baltimore and rookie Joey Porter Jr. is expected to start at cornerback, following in the footsteps of his famous father.
