The Hawks captured the seventh seed last season, marking the third straight campaign they appeared in the postseason. Going forward, that streak should continue for Atlanta. The Hawks backcourt of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray is explosive. Young continues to blow away opponents with 25+ points a game, 10-plus assists, and strong shooting. Murray, in his first year with the Hawks, proved effective as a shooter and playmaker. He was also a menace defensively, averaging 1.5 assists. The rest of the core is strong too: Clint Capela, Saddiq Bey, and De’Andre Hunter all are solidified pieces. Young, Murray, and company are trending towards competitive seasons in the future.

Offensively, Trae Young continues to develop and should lead the offense once again. John Collins and Clint Capela also had breakout moments in the 2021 playoffs, and the health of sixth-man Bogdan Bogdanovic will also be a key part of the Hawks’ success.
