Los Angeles Football Club is the newest expansion team in the MLS. LAFC is off to a fast start in their first season, which began with a victory in their very first game against the Seattle Sounders. Peter Guber, the CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group and co-owner of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, is the executive chairman of LAFC. Some of the club’s most prominent investors include NBA Hall of Famer  and Los Angeles Lakers President Magic Johnson, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, award-winning actor Will Ferrell, former baseball player Nomar Garciaparra, and his wife Mia Hamm-Garciaparra - one of the best female American soccer players of all time. Talk about a star-studded ownership group!

While the LA Galaxy have been the Major League Soccer team for Los Angeles since the league’s inaugural season in 1996, LAFC has penetrated the Los Angeles market with a younger and more innovative approach.
